There is something romantic and exciting about eloping. The idea of just you and your partner, together in an intimate ceremony, makes for a special moment that you will always treasure. Imagine exchanging vows with your loved one with the view of the city in the background- It's such a unique way to celebrate your love!
Colleen and Chip are both police officers from Pittsburgh. They tied the knot in a breathtaking elopement ceremony on the rooftop at West End-Elliott Overlook Park with the beautiful city of Pittsburgh skyline in the background! I love that they kept their wedding small and intimate, sharing their special day with just a few close family and friends. The "hurry up and wait" theme of typical wedding days was non-existent. It was just them and their closest friends hanging out until we traveled down the street for the ceremony.
Right before Colleen and Chip exchanged their vows, the sun disappeared and it started to poor down rain! Everyone rushed for cover waiting for the rain to pass. You would think something like this would make them upset- Not these two! We all huddled under a tent and told jokes until out of nowhere the rain cleared out and the blue skies were back! Everyone quickly cleared the rain off the chairs and on with the ceremony we went! Besides, didn't someone say it's good luck for it to rain on your wedding day?!
The skyline of Pittsburgh provided a stunning backdrop against which their love was celebrated, adding to the magic of their special day.The simplicity of their wedding ceremony was a true reflection of the couple’s deep connection, which was built on a foundation of friendship and mutual respect. As they gazed into each other’s eyes, it was clear to everyone present that these two were meant to be together. Their elopement ceremony was a testament to their love and commitment to one another, as well as a celebration of their shared profession and the bond that it creates. Colleen and Chip reminded me that sometimes, less is more, and that true love can be found in the simplest of moments.
As we finished up their images and they left for their private dinner at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, it was clear that Colleen and Chip’s love story was just beginning and that their happily ever after was just around the corner.
